We service customers inside the city limits of Lakeland. If your garbage can is gray, and your recycle can is black with a yellow lid, you are a Polk County customer and not serviced by the City of Lakeland. Please contact Polk County Solid Waste and Recycling at 863.284.4319.

ShredFest
November 16, 2024, from 9 a.m. to noon at Lakeland Solid Waste 605 Evelyn Ave. Lakeland
Happening on America Recycles Day, ShredFest is a FREE document shredding event at the City of Lakeland's Solid Waste Office. This one-day event allows residents to bring their personal documents to be securely shredded and recycled. Participants can bring up to five file boxes of paper per vehicle to be shredded and recycled. There is no need to remove envelopes, file folders, staples, tape, paper clips or rubber bands. Household Hazardous Waste Collection
February 8, 2025, from 8 a.m. to noon at Lakeland Solid Waste 605 Evelyn Ave. Lakeland
Household Hazardous Wastes (HHW) are products that contain ingredients that are flammable, corrosive, combustible, toxic and/or reactive.

Your Solid Waste & Recycling Account
Solid Waste & Recycling services begin when your Electric and Water Services are turned on at your home. Service is stopped when electric and water services are turned off at your home.
Residential services are provided once per week with automated garbage collection, automated recycling collection, and yard waste collection.
Bulk yard waste will be collected when a customer or a city solid waste driver reports the pile to our offices.
Commercial dumpster services are provided using 1 cubic yard up to 8 cubic yard containers, which can be collected 1 to 6 times per week based on your needs.
Roll-off container services can be provided for large construction projects producing construction & demolition debris. Please contact 863.834.8773 for a free quote for your construction project.
