The Florida Department of Transportation is conducting a Project Development and Environment (PD&E) study to determine how to improve Combee Road from US 98 to North Crystal Lake Drive.
Two build alternatives are under evaluation to determine the best way to accommodate bicyclists, pedestrians, and improve traffic operations. FDOT is considering roundabout intersections that have been shown to have safety and traffic operation benefits for all roadway users. The no build alternative is also considered throughout the project, which would not have any improvements to Combee Road other than routine maintenance, through the year 2045
The Virtual Public Workshop will consist of project meeting materials including maps and a chart comparing potential effects and cost of each alternative will be available for review and comment for 21 days, from Thursday, November 12, 2020 through Thursday, December 3, 2020. There will be no live component to this workshop. If you would like hard copy packets of the meeting materials, they will be available for pickup at the Lakeland Public Library during their regular business hours. The Main Library phone number is (863) 834-4280.
Although there is no live component to this workshop, we encourage you to submit any questions you may have through the project website or contact the FDOT Project Representative, Patrick Bateman, P.E. at (863) 519-2792 or Patrick.Bateman@dot.state.fl.us. A member of the project team will follow up with you to address your question.
