Motor Officer Perez Takes 3rd Place!

Officer Javier Perez Lakeland Police Department

CONGRATS to Motor Officer Javier Perez - 3rd Place (Novice Division) at Bruce Rossmeyer's Daytona Harley-Davidson Motorcycle Skills Challenge!

Officer Perez took 3rd place in the Novice Division at the recent event, held December 2, in Daytona Florida. Close to 100 motor officers from across the country battle it out each year. Also proudly representing LakelandPD were Motor Officers Paul Dunn and Rodney Wilkerson. We also couldn't do it without Motor Officer Steve Strickland, former winner and "Daytona Boss" title holder for is coaching and mentoring at the event. Nice job gentlemen!

The goal of the event is to bring motorcycle law enforcement officers, both local and abroad, together to train and become more proficient in the safe operation of their duty motorcycle. This event also affords participants an opportunity to both network and share information relevant to the training process as well as any emerging trends or technologies.

The event also raises money for two charities: the Florida Sheriff’s Youth Ranch and C.O.P.S. (Concerns of Police Survivors).
