Lakeland Linder Regional Airport is Going International: US Customs Office Opens
LAKELAND, FL (November 15, 2017) - The U.S. Customs and Border Protection General Aviation Facility located at Lakeland Linder Regional Airport will officially open at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, November 16, 2017. The First International Flight to clear the Lakeland U.S. Customs and Border Protection Facility will arrive between 3:30 p.m.- 4p.m. on Thursday, November 16th.
Invitation to the Media
The media is invited to join airport and customs staff in welcoming the flight. A number of students who have graduated from the Central Florida Aerospace Academy will be flying to the Bahamas in Sun ‘n Fun’s Cessna 182 accompanied by Mike Zidziunas, the President of the Lakeland Aero Club. The group will be flying to the Bahamas to meet with the Members of the Ministry of Tourism. The group will then return to Lakeland for the very first arriving flight into the newly opened U.S. Customs and Border Protection Facility located at Lakeland Linder Regional Airport.
