Lakeland Magic & RP Funding Center Team Up to Provide Relief for Those Still Recovering from Hurricane Irma
Lakeland, FL (September 15, 2017) The RP Funding Center, home to the Lakeland Magic (NBA G League), will open its doors on Friday, September 15th from 9:00am-4:00pm to residents still recovering from Hurricane Irma. The Center will be equipped with charging stations (individuals should bring their own charging cords), water, and a kid’s play area. The Lakeland Magic will also be sponsoring lunch from 11:00am-2:00pm and activities will be available for families throughout the day.
“We simply want to help show the citizens of Lakeland still dealing with the aftermath of Hurricane Irma that we care and want to provide an opportunity to re-charge for a few hours” commented RP Funding Executive Director Tony Camarillo.

The Lakeland Magic
On December 14, 2016 the Orlando Magic and the NBA Development League (D-League) announced that the Magic purchased the Erie BayHawks with plans to relocate the team to Lakeland, Florida and begin play during the 2017-18 season. With the purchase, the Magic became the 17th NBA team to own and operate their NBA G-League affiliate, the Lakeland Magic. The franchise will play its 24 home games at the RP Funding Center. The Lakeland Magic season is made up of 50 regular-season games plus a postseason and runs from November to April.
