Lakeland’s Annual Cardboard Boat Challenge and Lakeshore Festival is a collaborative event with Lakes Education/Action Drive, the City of LakelandLakeland Vision, Inc., and Lakeland Clean & Beautiful.

This unique event takes place on Saturday, October 6th at 8:30 AM at the Lake Hollingsworth boat ramp.

Citizen Perspectives Survey: Weigh In By 5 PM on October 7th

Our very first Citizen Perspectives survey is coming to an end. A number of incidents have happened on Lake Morton Drive over the past several weeks involving distracted drivers.  The City of Lakeland is seeking opinions on Lake Morton Drive safety enhancements.

N Lake Wire Cleanup & Outreach

Another neighborhood outreach and clean up is in the books with LPD and partners Dream Center of LakelandAll Saints' Episcopal Church, Parks & Recreation, New Beulah Missionary Baptist Church, and the City of Lakeland. On Saturday, September 29th, teams of volunteers hit the streets early with mowers, trimmers and trash bags in hand. Thanks to ALL THE VOLUNTEERS who came out and gave of their time!

  • A Public Hearing with City of Lakeland Water Utilities took place on October 4th. An outline of chlorine chamber replacement at T.B. Williams Water Treatment Plant was discussed.
  • A Public Meeting was held to discuss the Lake Crago Park Project Update on Tuesday, October 2nd. News of that coming very soon!
  • Plantae Orchideum sold OUT by 2 PM on Saturday, September 29th of the legendary RF Orchids and will be back next year!
  • The 38th Annual Lake Morton Swan Roundup was announced. Come out and watch the excitement on October 23rd and 24th!
