Neighborhood Bootcamp: Learn About Your City & the Development of Strong Neighborhoods
LAKELAND, FL (October 3, 2018) The City of Lakeland’s Neighborhood Outreach Division is hosting the Neighborhood Leadership Bootcamp on Saturday, October 13th from 8 AM – 1:15 PM at Lakeland City Hall (228 South Massachusetts Avenue). The event is free to the public and it is designed to help inform citizens about the programs and services offered by the City of Lakeland. Senior Planner Lynn Simpkins said, “We have a very strong neighborhood association in the City of Lakeland and every other year we host the boot camp to help empower our citizens so they are informed and engaged in the governmental process.”
Simpkins stated, “We are expecting 150 attendees for this event. The participants will be neighborhood association leaders, civic groups, social club members, neighborhood watch leaders, block captain leaders, church leaders and home owner association members but anyone from the public is welcome.”
The day will include a welcome from Mayor Mutz, presentations from the Communications Department, Public Library, Neighborhood Outreach Office and GIS Mapping.
