The City Commission met Friday morning for their regular Agenda Study in preparation for Monday's City Commission meeting. Join us at City Hall in the Commission Chambers on Monday, October 15th at 3 PM for the meeting or watch live online and on Spectrum 643 / FiOS 43.

Lakeland's annual Cardboard Boat Challenge & Lakeshore Festival, a collaborative effort with the Lakes Education/Action Drive, the City of Lakeland, Lakeland Vision, Inc. and Lakeland Clean & Beautiful, took place on Saturday, October 6th. With over 50 teams participating and a plethora of vendors and education booths, this year's races were...awesome!

US News & World Report recently named Lakeland the #10 best place to retire in the US (out of the top 100 cities!). But hey, we already knew that, right?
The Munn Park Monument Relocation project is currently 11.65% funded, with $6,374 in donations via GoFundMe and $19,835 in cash/check donations, totaling $26,209.
Lakeland Electric linemen headed up to Tallahassee and other areas affected by Hurricane Michael this week to help restore power to the region. It is estimated that there are currently more than 1.4 million utility customers without power in the hurricane-affected region (from Florida to Virginia).

Leadership Lakeland Class XXXVI started their City Government Day early Thursday morning as they were sworn in as Commissioners for the day by Mayor Bill Mutz at City Hall. This group of civic-minded leaders had a chance to REALLY get to know the City as they explored many City facilities from City Hall to the Fire Department to Joker Marchant Stadium!
We STILL have $100 rebates available for City of Lakeland Water Utility customers who have purchased water-saving toilets! Toilets installed on or after October 2017 qualify for this great offer.
