PUBLIC NOTICE: Public Hearing - Drinking Water State Revolving Fund

WHAT:  Public Hearing to outline chlorine chamber replacement at T.B. Williams Water Treatment Plant

WHERE: Lakeland City Hall, 228 South Massachusetts Avenue, 3rd Floor in the City Commission Chambers

WHEN: Thursday, October 4th at 6:30 p.m.

WHY: Project requires a public meeting take place to explain the improvements and how funds will be used

LAKELAND, FL (September 28, 2018) – The City of Lakeland will hold a public meeting on Thursday, October 4th, 2018 at 6:30 p.m. in the City Commission Chambers located at 228 South Massachusetts Avenue.  The public meeting is mandated by the State of Florida Revolving Fund because the City of Lakeland Water Utilities Department is planning on borrowing $15.4 Million from the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund.  This fund is part of the State of Florida Department of Environmental Protection Division of Water Restoration Assistance.  The borrowed monies will be used to replace the chlorine contact chamber at the T.B. Williams Water Treatment Plant as part of the City’s continuous improvement plant to provide safe reliable drinking water.  Representatives from the City of Lakeland Water Utilities will present the planning level documentation that details the necessary improvement and associated costs with the project.
