    Ultimate Improv for Teens

    Did you ever want to try out acting?  Well, this is the perfect place.  You get to create characters, act out scenes, and just have fun through a variety of games and improv exercises.  No scripts, no rehearsals, and everything is made up on the spot!

    Aquí, cada libro es una puerta abierta a nuevas ideas, culturas y emociones, transformando la experiencia de leer en un viaje compartido. ¡Ven y sé parte de una biblioteca que respira, escucha y conecta! La biblioteca viva se reune el segundo martes a las 5:30 PM de cada mes en la biblioteca principal de Lakeland.

    El libro para el mes de julio es Tierra Americana, de la autora Jeanine Cummins.

    Swan-tastic Seminar

    Join us on Monday, July 13th at 10 AM in the Lakeland Public Library Meeting Room for a swan-tastic time! Meet a swan and learn what makes Lakeland the ‘Swan City’ from the incredible team in the Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Arts department, who are dedicated to caring for our city’s swans. Feathers and fun guaranteed!

    No registration required and all ages are welcome.

    Summer Reading Programs 2026

    Join us for a dino-mite time during our Summer at the Museum and roar into summer reading! Explore the possibilities with a summer of challenges, crafts, prizes, and new discoveries!

    June 1st - July 24th

    Children ages 0-12 can participate in the Kids' Summer Reading Program, "Reading Roars!" for prehistoric adventures.
    Adults and teens ages 13+ can register for the Adult and Teen Summer Reading Program, "Summer at the Museum" and journey through the galleries to explore the world from prehistory to the edge of tomorrow.
