Downloadable Audio Books are here.....download titles to your home computer or digital audio device for playback at your convenience. Children's and Young Adult titles are now available as well as adult selections.
PLEASE NOTE: YOUR BOOKS WILL NOT PLAY IF YOU DOWNLOAD A TITLE WITH ONE VERSION OF MEDIA PLAYER AND THEN UPGRADE TO ANOTHER VERSION.
In order to access this service you must have a Polk County Library Cooperative library card.
To create your NetLibrary Audiobooks Account, follow the link above. Have your library barcode and borrower ID number ready. (PLEASE NOTE: For privacy reasons, your borrower ID number can only be issued to you in person at the circulation desk.)
After you complete the authentication process for online resources by entering your barcode number and borrower ID, you will be directed to the NetLibrary Audiobook link site. Look for the "create an account" link in the upper right corner to register. You will be asked for a username and password, and to give your name and email address. That's all you need!
Just remember your username and password for future logins to the site (no need for the library card number again after you create an account).
**Please Note:
Your computer must have Windows Media Player version 9 or higher
Your browser must be one of the following: Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher, Netscape Navigator 6.2 or higher, Mozilla 1.1 or Firefox .06 or higher, Opera 7.x, or Camino 0.7 or above.
This service is not MAC compatible.
You can download to a MP3 player or a digital audio device, (but no iPods.)Link of compatible devices provided above.
**Circulation Note:
Your audiobook is available on your computer for 21 days. You can renew online at the NetLibrary.com site for another 21 days. If you don't renew after 21 days the license to play your book expires and the book will not play. You must delete the file.
You may have 6 titles at any one time downloaded.
Titles are loaded in the PCLC catalog or you can browse the NetLibrary site at www.netLibrary.com/recordedbooks - (see link at top of page).
