    The Science Squad at Jackson Branch

    Join the squad! Come create, learn, and explore the world around us through hands-on science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics activities at the Larry R. Jackson Branch Library on Tuesday, August 12th from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM.

    The Science Squad is recommended for children ages 7-12 and their grown-ups, no registration required. Things could get messy, so please wear appropriate clothing and make sure to arrive by 5:30 pm to not miss any of the fun!

    Science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics activities increase innovative thinking, encourage curiosity, inspire creativity, foster collaboration, and prepare young learners for high-demand careers.

    In the Loop: A Crochet Class

    Do you keep losing your precious ChapStick? Well, look no further, In the Loop has just the solution for you! Join us in the Commons at the Lakeland Public Library on Tuesday, August 19th at 5pm to crochet a ChapStick holder keychain so you never lose your ChapStick again.

    This month, the project is accessible to beginner/intermediate level crocheters. We will be working in the round and using a magic ring, so be prepared to use those skills. The pattern, keychain, yarn, and hooks will be provided for you, though you are more than welcome to bring your own hook if you’d like (size 4.5mm). ChapStick not included.

    This class is open for ages 18+. Registration is required and will opens Tuesday, August 12th at 5 PM.
