Manga & Anime Club at Jackson Branch Library

Calling all 13 to 17-year-old anime fans! The LJB Anime club is dedicated to all things manga and anime! We have crafts, anime-related activities, art materials, and snacks. Bring your opinions, recommendations, and come hang out! Join us on Saturday, July 25th from 3 PM to 4:30 PM at the Larry R. Jackson Branch Library!

Dinosaurs & Discussions Book Club

Join us on Thursday, July 23rd at 5:30 PM at the Lakeland Public Library as we dive into The Lost World by Michael Crichton, the action-packed sequel to Jurassic Park. Filled with suspense, science, and prehistoric adventure, this month’s discussion will explore the dangers, discoveries, and dinosaurs that await on a mysterious island where survival is anything but guaranteed. Whether you joined us for the first book or are jumping in for the sequel, this special summer reading book club is perfect for fans of science fiction, adventure, and all things dinosaurs!

No registration required. This event is for ages 18+.

Build a Bird Feeder Workshop

Invite birds to your yard with your own handmade bird feeder that we’ll make at the Lakeland Public Library on Wednesday, July 29th at 5 PM! We’ll provide the supplies and walk you through building a beautiful hanging feeder that will not only attract a variety of feathered friends but also add a charming touch to your outdoor space.

This event is for ages 18+. Registration is required and opens Wednesday, July 22nd at 5 PM.

Summer Reading Programs 2026

Join us for a dino-mite time during our Summer at the Museum and roar into summer reading! Explore the possibilities with a summer of challenges, crafts, prizes, and new discoveries!

June 1st - July 24th

Children ages 0-12 can participate in the Kids' Summer Reading Program, "Reading Roars!" for prehistoric adventures.
Adults and teens ages 13+ can register for the Adult and Teen Summer Reading Program, "Summer at the Museum" and journey through the galleries to explore the world from prehistory to the edge of tomorrow.
