    Children's Theater at the Lakeland Public Library is an interactive storytime that lets kids become the stars! Join us on Saturday, December 13th at 2 PM to be part of the fun. Suggest themes, perform on stage, or just sit back and watch the show. Designed for children ages 4 and up.
    No registration required.

    In the Loop: A Crochet Class

    Can’t get enough holiday crafts? Join us in the Commons at the Lakeland Public Library on Tuesday, December 16th at 5pm to make a star ornament!

    This month, the project is accessible to intermediate level crocheters. We will be working in the round and using a magic ring, so be prepared to use those skills. The pattern, yarn, and hooks will be provided for you, though you are more than welcome to bring your own hook if you’d like (size 4.5mm).

    This class is open for ages 18+. Registration is required and is open.

    Youth Intermediate Sewing Saturday on December 13th at Jackson Branch

    We've got sewing machine basics, where can we go? Join us on Saturday, December 13th at 10:00 am at the Larry R. Jackson Branch Library for projects to sew!

    Older kids and teens ages 9-17 who have taken our Spools Out for Summer sewing series or have hands-on experience using a sewing machine independently are invited to join us for a free 90-minute class. Sewing Saturday is limited to eight (8) participants and registration is required. Each participant must be registered separately.

    December's Project: Drawstring Fabric Gift Bag

    **Please note, this is not an introduction to sewing or sewing machines. Students need to have some basic experience using a sewing machines to participate.**

    **NOTE: This December project is the same as the Sewing Saturday class on November 8, 2025. If you attended the November 2025 Sewing Saturday, you are not eligible to register for this class. Any repeat registrants will be removed from the class list.**

    Preschool Storytimes at Lakeland Libraries

    All three Lakeland Library locations have preschool storytimes for children ages 2-5 and their grownups! With stories, songs, rhymes, and activities, storytimes promote the development of preliteracy, verbal and listening skills, and socio-emotional skills.
