    Let's unleash our inner dinos by watching the original 1993 movie Jurassic Park on Thursday, June 11th from 4 PM to 6 PM in the Lakeland Public Library Meeting Room! Get ready for an adventure through prehistoric landscapes and thrilling encounters, whether you're a fan of action, sci-fi, or just love a good story, this screening is sure to captivate your imagination and keep you on the edge of your seat. This summer program isn't just for bookworms—it's a ticket to blockbuster fun too!

    No registration required. Ages 13 and younger need to be accompanied by an adult.

    Hearing Screening with Central Florida Speech & Hearing Center

    Hop aboard the Communication Station with the Central Florida Speech and Hearing Center for a free ear check-up extravaganza! Just bring your ID and your lovely ears for a sound evaluation adventure. Hearing tests will be conducted in a CFSHC bus that will be parked at the Lakeland Public Library on Wednesday, June 10th from 11 AM to 3 PM.

    No registration required. This event is for ages 18+.

    Summer Reading Programs 2026

    Join us for a dino-mite time during our Summer at the Museum and roar into summer reading! Explore the possibilities with a summer of challenges, crafts, prizes, and new discoveries!

    June 1st - July 24th

    Children ages 0-12 can participate in the Kids' Summer Reading Program, "Reading Roars!" for prehistoric adventures.
    Adults and teens ages 13+ can register for the Adult and Teen Summer Reading Program, "Summer at the Museum" and journey through the galleries to explore the world from prehistory to the edge of tomorrow.
