    Bilingual Conversational Meetup

Have you learned English or Spanish but don’t have a way to practice? Join Bilingual Conversational Meetup on Thursday, November 20th from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM in the Commons at Lakeland Public Library for conversational practice. ¡Vamos! Let’s go!

No registration required. This event is for ages 18+.

In the Loop: A Crochet Class

Looking for that final, homemade décor for your Thanksgiving table? Join us in the Commons at the Lakeland Public Library on Tuesday, November 18th at 5pm to create the perfect pumpkin coaster!

This month, the project is accessible to intermediate level crocheters. We will be working in the round and using a magic ring, so be prepared to use those skills. The pattern, yarn, and hooks will be provided for you, though you are more than welcome to bring your own hook if you’d like (size 4.5mm).

This class is open for ages 18+. Registration is required and opens Wednesday, November 12th at 5 PM.

Crafternoon at the Larry R. Jackson Branch Library

Early dismissal from school and don't know what to do? Come create with us! We'll supply the materials; you just bring your imagination. On Friday, November 21st from 2:30-3:30 pm, we will be making our own jigsaw puzzles!

Crafternoon is a monthly, drop-in craft program for kids ages 5-12 and their grownups at the Larry R. Jackson Branch Library, falling on Polk County Public Schools' Early Dismissal Days. No registration required, but things could get messy, so please wear appropriate clothing! Children under the age of 10 must remain with their grown-up in the library throughout the program.

Crafting boosts fine motor skills, improves coordination, allows for creativity and self-expression, and teaches flexibility.
