    The Write Spot:  A safe place where people who like to write or are interested in writing can come and create in a supportive environment with fun writing prompts, encouragement, and prizes.  If this sounds like a  good time, then this is the Write Spot for you. Join us on Saturday, June 27th from 2 PM to 3:30 PM in The Commons at the Lakeland Public Library!

    Dinosaurs & Discussions Book Club

    Grab your reading glasses and buckle up for a dino-sized adventure! Join us on Thursday, June 25th from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM in the Lakeland Public Library Commons for a special summer book club, inspired by this year’s dinosaur-themed summer reading program. We’re diving head-first into the prehistoric playground of Jurassic Park by Michael Crichton. We'll chat, debate, and get swept away by all things dino and science!

    No registration required. This event is for ages 18+.

    Water Conservation Made Simple

    Join us on Tuesday, June 23rd at 11 AM in the Lakeland Public Library Meeting Room to learn about easy, practical steps anyone can take to reduce water use at home, whether in the bathroom, the kitchen, or outdoors. This presentation by the Florida Governmental Utility Authority (FGUA) highlights everyday habits, smart tools, and helpful tips that make saving water both achievable and rewarding.

    Summer Reading Programs 2026

    Join us for a dino-mite time during our Summer at the Museum and roar into summer reading! Explore the possibilities with a summer of challenges, crafts, prizes, and new discoveries!

    June 1st - July 24th

    Children ages 0-12 can participate in the Kids' Summer Reading Program, "Reading Roars!" for prehistoric adventures.
    Adults and teens ages 13+ can register for the Adult and Teen Summer Reading Program, "Summer at the Museum" and journey through the galleries to explore the world from prehistory to the edge of tomorrow.
