LAKELAND LOVES A PARADE
A majorette steps out on Kentucky Avenue

Lakeland has never needed much of an excuse to have a parade over its 100+ year existence. Whether it be Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Veterans Day, Christmas, or any other holiday, the residents of Lakeland have always been ready to put together imaginative floats, strike up the marching bands, and march around the city's downtown streets.

The small exhibit which follows demonstrates Lakeland's fondness for the pomp and ceremony of parades with photos of floats and marches dating to the beginning of the 20th century. Pull up a street corner and enjoy as the bands and floats from Lakeland's past celebrations parade before your eyes.
