Scope and Content Note

The records in this collection were collected from a variety of sources over many years and documents to a small extent the relationship between the Detroit Tigers and their spring training home, the City of Lakeland, Florida. Included are journal articles, newsclips, programs and schedules, memorabilia, and drafts of articles by Gordon Olson and Frank Schubert, chroniclers of the Detroit Tigers in Lakeland. Also included are transcripts of interviews conducted by Olson and Schubert in the course of their research on the Detroit Tigers and spring training.
After processing, the collection was divided into two series, Subject Files and Oral History Transcripts. |
