SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE
FlightSafety International's Lakeland Center was founded in 1954. It trained more than 1,600 students each year. Two famous repeat students were actor Christopher Reeve and race car driver Bill Elliott. The also school hosted international clients from Austria, Canada, Japan, Korea, and Yugoslavia.

The collection contains brochures, pamphlets, and leaflets on training on Piper and Aerostar airplanes, copies of certificates awarded to Reeve and Elliott and news articles about the Lakeland center.
