There are several active Historical Associations in Polk County, including Historic Lakeland (RG5520), described separately. This collection includes materials records from other local historical societies:
Polk County Historical Association, 1959-2003, Box 1, contains meeting agendas, minutes, newsletters, and information from the Polk County Historical and Genealogy Library located in Bartow, Florida.
Imperial Polk Genealogical Society, 1982-1999, in Box 2.
The Kathleen Area Historical Society, 1991-1998, includes newsletters and some correspondence.
