The records in this series document the activities of the Lakeland Building and Investment Company, a real estate development and holding company organized by Drane and several partners in 1903. The principal business of the company appeared to be buying commercial buildings and real estate in Lakeland and leasing the properties to local and national business concerns.
The types of records include the company's articles of incorporation and by-laws, minutes of the board of directors' meetings, ledgers, stock certificates, (pictured above)and treasurers' reports.
