This series contains records relating more to Herbert Drane's personal rather than to his business and political lives. Topics include his wife's estate, the Drane family genealogy, the Lakeland Citrus Growers Association, and a variety of real estate transactions. The types of records include a typescript autobiography, a family genealogy, a city commission resolution naming the municipal airport after Drane, correspondence, deeds, mortgages, leases, speeches, and stock certificates. Pictured above is Drane's Lakeland home.
Perhaps the most interesting item in the collection is Drane's autobiography, completed in 1936. Drane describes his early life, the events which led him to Florida and to Lakeland, his courtship and marriage to Mary Wright, and the evolution of his political career.
