How to Apply and Submit

It’s easier than ever to apply for permits with the Lakeland Fire Department.

  1. Register with the City of Lakeland by filling out this registration form and submit the completed form, along with required documentation, to 
  2. You will receive an e-mail from Building Inspection with eTRAKiT login information and a temporary password.
  3. Login to eTRAKiT, change your password, and begin to apply for permits.


Please allow two weeks for permit processing.

When choosing the permit type in the application, all fire permits are located at the bottom of the list.

Once you choose the permit type, in the upper right-hand corner, you will see blue text which is a hyperlink to that permit’s application instructions.  The instructions will take you through the application, step-by-step.

Ensure you input the correct address for the project, including suite numbers.

Ensure the e-mail address provided is correct, as all correspondence for the permit will be sent to that e-mail address.

It is the contractor’s responsibility to print both the permit and the approved, stamped plans and make them available on the job site.

Permit Fees

Fees are associated with several permits. If you are completing an application for a permit please refer to the fee list available here

It is the responsibility of the permit applicants to provide payment for the fee.
