LAKELAND, FL (October 31, 2018) - We are excited to announce the City of Lakeland has begun a data-sharing partnership with the Waze Connected Citizens Program (CCP). Waze is a GPS navigation mobile app that allows drivers to share real-time traffic and road information.
LAKELAND, FL (October 22, 2018) | At approximately 3:15 PM, the City of Lakeland received a hand-delivered letter signed by Michael Dunn tendering his resignation as a Commissioner of the SW District of Lakeland effective October 20, 2018. City Attorney Tim McCausland said, "The resignation is effective upon receipt." The Lakeland City Commission will discuss the next steps and the process of replacing Dunn during a meeting on Friday, October 26th at 8 AM.
Lakeland, FL (October 17, 2018) | Six Lakeland Fire Department (LFD) Urban Search and Rescue Team (USAR) Technical Rescue Team 421 (TRT 421) members have been deployed in the Florida panhandle since October 10, 2018 assisting in the aftermath of Hurricane Michael.
LAKELAND, FL (October 16, 2018) | The City of Lakeland Parks Division will be on Lake Morton at 7:00 AM on Tuesday, October 23rd for the 38th Annual Swan Roundup. Parks & Recreation employees will be carefully gathering the swans to get them ready for their annual veterinary check-up.
Lakeland, FL (October 15, 2018) – Six members from the Lakeland Fire Department’s (LFD) Urban Search and Rescue Team (USAR) Technical Rescue Team 421 (TRT 421) deployed on Wednesday, October 10 to the Florida panhandle, to provide rescue and relief assistance in the wake of Hurricane Michael.
