The Lakeland Police Department Public Information/Community Relations function is staffed by two people and its purpose is the prompt and efficient exchange of information for the benefit of our citizens. We will continuously strive to enhance the partnerships between our citizens and the officers of our department. The Public Information function is structured to support the Lakeland Police Department and to promote the department in a positive manner.
The Public Information Officer and the Public Safety Communication Specialist facilitate the transfer of information through interviews, press conferences, media releases and social media outlets. One way we can obtain the goal of improving public safety and the services we provide is through our continued outreach and communications between the department, our citizens and the media.
