The Lakeland Police Department would like to recognize and thank the Lakeland Rotary Club for their dedicated fundraising efforts in 2013 in raising enough money to purchase 131 Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) for deployment with Lakeland Police officers. The AEDs, are devices that are demonstrated to improve the survivability chances of a victim suffering from cardiac arrest. Their gift of AEDs is not just to the Lakeland Police Department. In reality, it is a gift to the entire Lakeland community

Multiple training sessions were held on yesterday and today for the officers prior to the AEDs being deployed.
