Attempt to Identify - Grand Theft Suspects Old Navy

        

On Monday, February 17, 2014, at approximately 11:29 a.m., two females entered the Old Navy store, 3800 N Road 98, and took approximately $400 worth of infant clothing.

Suspect #1 is described as a black female, 17-23 years of age, 5’2”-5’5”, 110-130 lbs, with a medium complexion and her black hair pulled back into a bun. She was seen wearing blue jeans, a grey hooded sweatshirt with large white letters on the front, black flat shoes, a black cap or visor and sunglasses. She was carrying a large black purse and a hot pink plastic bag.

Suspect #2 is described as a black female, 17-23 years of age, 5’2”-5’5”, 160-180 lbs, with a medium complexion and short black hair. She was seen wearing a hot pink shirt, black pants, brown shoes, glasses and carrying a large brown purse.

Anyone with information on the identification of these individuals are asked to contact the Lakeland Police Department at 863-834-6900, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-226-8477. To remain anonymous and be eligible for a cash reward, you must contact Crime Stoppers.

Lakeland Rotary Clue raised money to buy 131 AEDs for LPD

The Lakeland Police Department would like to recognize and thank the Lakeland Rotary Club for their dedicated fundraising efforts in 2013 in raising enough money to purchase 131 Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) for deployment with Lakeland Police officers. The AEDs, are devices that are demonstrated to improve the survivability chances of a victim suffering from cardiac arrest. Their gift of AEDs is not just to the Lakeland Police Department. In reality, it is a gift to the entire Lakeland community

Multiple training sessions were held on yesterday and today for the officers prior to the AEDs being deployed. PAL Needs Volunteers for Annual Sun N Fun Fly In

There is still time to sign up to volunteer at this year’s Sun N Fun International Fly In & Expo!

PAL is seeking volunteers to work this year's Sun n Fun Fly In scheduled for Tuesday, April 1 – Sunday, April 6th, 2014. All volunteers receive free lunch, free tickets, free hat & shirts and volunteer hours.

There are two volunteer shifts available: 6:45 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. You must be at least 13 years old to volunteer. Volunteers between 13 – 17 need permission from their parents or legal guardian to participate.

Traffic Fatality Investigation, March 15, 2014

On March 15, 2014 at approximately 2:09 a.m., 2004 Suzuki motorcycle was traveling north on South Florida Ave in the inside lane. The motorcycle entered the intersection of Lime Street and collided with a 2000 Jeep Cherokee SUV that was in the intersection. The initial investigation indicates that the motorcycle failed to stop for the red light. The operator of the motorcycle was pronounced deceased at the scene and next of kin has not been notified.

The operator of the Jeep, Peter J Nelson, 2013 East Clinton, Street, Tampa,  was taken to LRMC with non-life threatening injuries. Further investigation reveals that the motorcycle had been reported stolen out of Kissimmee on 12/20/13. The traffic homicide investigation is still open pending further investigation from the Lead Investigator Officer Catalano. Traffic on South Florida Avenue was detoured for 4.5 hours during the investigation. No other information is available at this time.
