THANK YOU to everyone who participated in National Night Out on Tuesday, August 5th. We enjoyed meeting many of you and participating in the wonderful activities you prepared. With over 170 organizations participating YOU made this annual event a success!

Welcome to the Lakeland Police Department’s website.

The Lakeland Police Department is a full service police agency, accredited through the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA) and the Commission for Florida Law Enforcement Accreditation (CFA). We have dedicated personnel who are committed to the philosophy of community-oriented policing. Through a partnership with the residents of Lakeland we can work to solve problems and improve the quality of life for the entire community. Part of that partnership is to provide open communications with our public partners.

The Lakeland Police Department has 227 sworn and 117 civilian personnel who work in various functions of the department and are united in our effort to make our City a better place to work, play and live. We are dedicated to promoting the safety and welfare of the citizens of Lakeland through crime prevention and other essential public safety services.

    On Thursday, August 14, 2014, at approximately 2:37 p.m., two individuals entered the Mark Twain Smoke Shop, 124 West Main Street, and committed a strong arm robbery.

    On August 14, 2014 Crime Scene Technicians developed latent prints from yesterday’s bank robbery at Citizens Bank & Trust, 1985 East Edgewood. Darryl Robinson, B/M, 54, was identified in our Automated Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS).
