Help us Find Kids Who Have "Done The Right Thing"
Bi-annually the City of Lakeland Police Department will honor children in our community who distinguish themselves by their exemplary behavior. We need your help. If you know a child whose accomplishment, attitude, or outstanding effort make them a positive role model for their peers, please download and complete the form below and return it to Officer Lori Edwards via email at Lori.Edwards@polk-fl.net, or via PCSB courier at Phillip O'Brien Elementary or mail to the address below:
DO THE RIGHT THING PROGRAM
Lakeland Police Department
219 N Massachusetts Av
Lakeland, FL 33801
ATTN: Officer Lori Edwards
Nominations are received by Officer Lori Edwards. Names and other personal information that would identify the students is redacted from the nominations before they are sent to Do The Right Thing committee members for review. Each committee member will review the nominations and send them back to Officer Edwards in the order they select for winners. All nominations are tallied and the top winners are honored in an official ceremony at the Lakeland Police Department where they receive an official medal and other awards.
In May of each year all Do The Right Thing winners are invited to a special ceremony.
