The Office of the Chief of Police is responsible for the overall leadership of every department member.

Reporting directly to the Chief are several administrative components and bureau commanders. The Public Information Officer handles media relations and serves as the spokesperson for the Department. The Legal Advisor provides legal services to the department, which include legal training, asset forfeiture cases, and employment law. The Operational Review Section consists of Internal Affairs, Staff Inspections, and the Accrediation program. The Planning and Research Unit includes grant management and strategic planning functions.

Bureau Commanders
Also reporting directly to the Chief of Police are the three bureau commanders. Neighborhood Services Bueau provides basic patrol services and special operations to the community. Investigative Services Bureau conducts follow up criminal investigations and handles vice and narcotic operations. Administrative Services Bureau provides a wide range of support services such as Communications, Human Resources, and Property and Evidence.
