The Lakeland Police Department is committed to prevention and educational programs that target our youth by helping them become happy and healthy adults.
With those thoughts in mind, we welcome you to the home page of the Juvenile Services Section. JSS is responsible for a wide range of youth programs, enforcement initiatives, and related services.

Juvenile Services Section is divided into various units, including the School Resource Unit, Crimes Against Children Unit, Police Athletic League, and the Truancy Interdiction Program.
The School Resource Unit (SRU) provides a variety of services to public and private schools in Lakeland, to include School Resource Officers, DARE and GREAT instructional programs, and youth-specific enforcement efforts.
The Crimes Against Children Unit (CAC) investigates crimes against children and missing children. Missing children are also handled by this unit.
The Truancy Interdiction Program (TIP) seeks to eliminate school truancy by enforcing truancy and youth protection ordinances and returning absent students to school.
The Police Athletic League (PAL) offers a wide range of sports activities, competitive league play, after-school tutoring, and summer programs. Feel free to visit our various components by clicking on the links to the left and learn more about their activities. |
