Early Morning Home Invasion

 

 

Lakeland, Fl. (November 7, 2016) – On November 7, 2016 at 12:57 a.m., the Lakeland Police Department responded to a Home Invasion at 3237 Cleveland Heights Boulevard. The victim, Claudia Chritton, stated after hearing a doorbell she looked outside and observed an individual running away. Approximately 5 minutes later, Mrs. Chritton then heard a second doorbell sound and opened the door to tell the individuals to leave; however, the suspects waited outside of the door and entered the residence. 

 

A total of four suspects entered the residence and at least one was armed with a handgun. The suspects tied up Mrs. Chritton and threatened to do bodily harm to Mr. Chritton if he did anything. The suspects stole numerous electronic items and well as some cash. The suspects also stole the victim’s vehicle; a 2012 Black Buick Lacrosse, bearing Florida tag BGU-C84.

 

At approximately 1:30 a.m., Lt. Brent Addison observed a vehicle speeding in the area of Bartow Road and North Crystal Lake Drive. Within a few minutes, Lt. Addison observed a vehicle crashed into a ditch at the intersection of Main Street and Don’s Court. Inside the vehicle were three suspects that matched the physical and clothing descriptions provided by the victims. Also, inside the vehicle were several items that were taken from the victim’s residence. The three suspects were taken into custody and transported to LPD.

 

The vehicle discovered in the ditch was not the victim’s stolen vehicle and was identified as a reported stolen vehicle out of Kissimmee. The license plated attached to the stolen vehicle was reported stolen out of Jacksonville. The victim’s vehicle is still reported as stolen and has not been located at this time this time.

 

Arrested and charged with 2 counts Armed Robbery and 1 count of Armed Burglary:

 

1.     Julio Alcantar, 16 years old from Kissimmee

2.     Joseph Alcantar, 15 years old from Kissimmee

3.     Isiah Coffy, 19 years old from Lakeland

Suspect Sought in Subway Robbery

LAKELAND, FL (October 31, 2016) – On Saturday, October 29, 2016, shortly after 7:00 p.m., the Lakeland Police Department responded to the Subway store in Plantation Plaza, located at 5395 North Socrum Loop Road, regarding a reported armed robbery. Witnesses reported that a suspect entered the business and confronted one of the three employees who were working at the time. The suspect, armed with a black and gray handgun, demanded money from the employee working the front counter. After the employee complied with the demands, the suspect took an undetermined amount of cash, placing it in his sweatshirt as he exited the building and fled on foot.  No one was injured during the incident. 

The LPD K-9 unit responded to the location for support, however, the suspect could not be located in the surrounding area. The suspect was described as a white or light-skinned Hispanic male, clean shaven and in his early 20s. He was wearing a Tampa Bay Rays hat, dark shorts and a gray sweatshirt during the robbery.

The Special Victims Unit has now identified four more victims, all of which were clients of Conti. The first three victims all involved “messaging/touching therapy” by Conti letting the victim believe that sexual contact by the him is consistent with or part of the treatment.

 

The fourth victim, was similar in circumstances and in this case, Conti touched the victim’s genitals on two separate occasions. Conti news charges are:

 

·         3cts Attempt - Psychotherapist Engage in Sex with Client

·         2 ct - Psychotherapist Engage in Sex with Client, Felony 2.

 

Conti has a first appearance hearing today at 1:00 p.m.

 

The Lakeland Police Department believes there could be more potential victims. Anyone with additional information is encouraged to come forward and speak with a detective by calling 863.834.8977. All victim’s identities will remain confidential as protected by Florida State Law.

 

 

 

LAKELAND, FL (September 27, 2016)

 

On September 12, 2016, the Lakeland Police Department began to investigate allegations of sexual misconduct by psychotherapist, Anthony H. Conti Jr. Conti is a licensed Mental Health Counselor at Tony Conti, M.A. Counseling Center, located at 1962 E. Edgewood Drive in Lakeland.  The first victim, 29 years of age, contacted Conti in late June / early July.

 

During her third visit with Conti, he mentioned how he could help rid her body of toxins and he discussed four levels of treatment. Conti explained that level one consisted of touching her on the neck, down the neck, the arm and breast region. He further stated that level four was intimate with hands on touching. Conti began level one treatment and the session ended.

 

On September 2, 2016, the victim received a phone call from Conti and he inquired as to why she hadn’t scheduled another session. The victim thought the phone call was out of the normal for him to contact her for an appointment, but she agreed to another session.

 

On September 10, 2016, the victim arrived for another session and Conti had her lay down on a sofa. Conti explained that there were glands in her breast region at which time he placed both of his hands underneath her bra and “groped” her breasts multiple times. The victim explained that she didn’t feel comfortable with this and had to leave. The victim stated that Conti then put his hands down her pants. The session ended and the victim later spoke with the State Attorney’s Office and they forwarded the case to the Lakeland Police Department.

 

 

Second Victim

 

On September 20, 2016, the Lakeland Police Department began a second investigation into the allegations of sexual misconduct by Anthony Conti, Jr. The 39-year-old victim in this case had been treated by Conti since December of 2015. During a session on September 9, 2016, the victim stated that Conti rubbed her legs vigorously with both hands. Conti had also been talking to her for months about eastern medicine therapy and neurotransmitter releases that can be done. He further went into detail about serotonin’s and how Gamma-Amino Butyric Acid are produced in your stomach and dopamine that is produced in your crotch area. During this session, the victim stated Conti commented on how gorgeous she was. The session ended and another one was scheduled.

 

On September 15, 2016, the victim arrived for another session and Conti brought up the aforementioned therapies and explained the science behind it.  Conti had the victim lay down and he began rubbing her stomach under her shirt. He then proceeded to slide his hand underneath her pants and her underwear. The victim stated she felt embarrassed and froze. Conti continued to rub her inner thighs while he explained about her lymph nodes and the importance of them. The victim further stated that Conti began to massage her underneath her panties. The victim then told Conti to stop at which point he did. Conti then moved to her upper chest and explained the mechanics of his touch. He proceeded to touch her breast and told her she had beautiful breasts. The session ended and the victim left.

 

On September 27,2016, the victims worked with undercover detectives and made contact with Conti. During this visit, the victim asked Conti about him touching her during the previous therapy. Conti advised he does this because he is trying to restart the body and he referenced to touching the butt, breasts and vagina. Conti spoke of several other techniques, such as pelvic floor stimulation, and how they help relieve depression. 

 

Anthony H. Conti, Jr. was placed under arrest shortly after the session and charged with:

 

2cts Psychotherapist Engage in Sex with Client, Felony 2.

 

Conti was later transported to the Polk County Jail. The investigation is ongoing with the Special Victims Unit and the State Attorney’s Office, who assisted in the investigation.

Republican Presidential Nominee Donald Trump To Visit Lakeland Tomorrow

Donald Trump is set to appear at Lakeland Linder Regional Airport’s Sheltair Hangar, 3440 Airfield Drive West, at 3 p.m. October 12. The doors are scheduled to open at noon. The Lakeland Police Department will be assisting the U.S. Secret Service with security, assisting with the traffic flow and crowd control. There will be numerous Magnetometer checkpoints and the U.S. Secret Service advised the below listed items will not be allowed:

• Firearm of any type
• Weapon of any type
• Hazardous materials
Chemical materials
Radiological materials
Biological materials
• Knives (of any kind)
• Toy guns / toy weapons
• Fireworks
• Pepper spray / mace
• Scissors
• Razor blades
• Needles
• Leatherman brand tools (or similar)
• Screwdrivers (or similar)
• Glass bottles
• Tripods
• Coolers
• Air-horns
• Laser pointers
• Aerosol containers
• Soda cans
• Sticks / poles
• Baseballs, softballs, etc
• Produce (depends on event)
• Umbrellas (depends on event)

The Lakeland Police Department recognizes and respects everyone's right to express their First Amendment, and we will do everything possible to ensure the event is safe for all attendees and surrounding neighborhoods. Expect security to be heavy and visible as the Lakeland Police Department will have a large presence at the rally. People coming to the event, living or working near the airport should expect delays and plan alternate modes of transportation.

The temperature is expected to be 85 degrees tomorrow so please take precautionary measures to avoid the harmful effects of dehydration, including the following:

• Drink plenty of fluids beforehand
• Make sure you are taking in more fluid than you are losing.
• Drink appropriate sports drinks to help maintain electrolyte balance.
• Dress appropriately for the elements.

Parking Information

The Lakeland Linder Regional Airport will be closing Don Emerson Drive to all thru traffic for pedestrian safety at 10:00am. Those attending the event will enter the parking lots via Airfield Ct. E. at the intersection of Drane Field Road. There will be two trams looping through the parking lot. There is limited handicap parking. Based on the number of expected attendees the lots should fill quickly. Once they reach capacity the lots will be closed and all additional traffic will be turned away. 

Protestors will be directed to a designated area off of Don Emerson Drive across from the Hilton Garden Inn.
