Public Notice: Weekend Lane Closures Scheduled On Lakeland Highlands Road For Utility Installation
LAKELAND, FL (July 11, 2025) | Beginning at 9:00 p.m. on Friday, July 11, 2025, Lakeland Highlands Road will be reduced to one northbound lane and one southbound lane to allow for the installation of a new force main at the intersection near Lowe’s and Sam’s Club. The lane closures will remain in effect throughout the weekend, with full traffic flow expected to resume by 6:00 a.m. on Monday, July 14, 2025.
Law enforcement officers and onsite traffic control personnel will be stationed throughout the project area to assist motorists and ensure traffic continues to move safely and efficiently. Access to all nearby businesses will remain open during the closure. Drivers are encouraged to use caution in the area and allow for extra travel time.
Later this summer, the entrance drive to Lowe’s will also be reconstructed as part of the Fort Fraser Trail Extension project to eliminate the roadway dip and improve driving conditions in the area.
