NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City Commission of the City of Lakeland, Florida, at a City Commission meeting which commences at 9:00 A.M. on Monday, August 17, 2026, in the City Commission Room at City Hall, 228 S. Massachusetts Avenue, Lakeland, Florida, will hold a public hearing pursuant to Section 197.3632, Florida Statutes, to consider adoption of a non-ad valorem assessment roll for the purpose of utilizing the uniform method of collecting non-ad valorem assessments as set forth in Section 197.3632, Florida Statutes, to collect the assessments set forth on this Notice. All affected property owners have a right to appear at this hearing and to be heard and the right to file written objections with in 20 days of the publication of this Notice.

The City Commission of the City of Lakeland, Florida proposes to adopt: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LAKELAND, FLORIDA RELATED TO DATA CENTERS AND LARGE LOAD CUSTOMERS; ESTABLISHING A TEMPORARY MORATORIUM ON THE ACCEPTANCE, PROCESSING, REVIEW AND APPROVAL OF APPLICATIONS FOR DEVELOPMENT PERMITS, DEVELOPMENT ORDERS AND OTHER APPROVALS RELATED TO DATA CENTERS AND LARGE LOAD CUSTOMERS; DIRECTING THE REVIEW AND DEVELOPMENT OF APPROPRIATE AMENDMENTS TO THE CITY OF LAKELAND LAND DEVELOPMENT CODE, COMPREHENSIVE PLAN AND OTHER REGULATIONS RELATING TO DATA CENTERS AND LARGE LOAD CUSTOMERS; ESTABLISHING THE DURATION OF THE MORATORIUM; MAKING FINDINGS; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
