Under Florida law, e-mail addresses are public records. If you do not want your e-mail address released in response to a public records request, do not send electronic mail to this entity. Instead, contact this office by phone or in writing.

The City of Lakeland follows the same guidelines as the State of Florida regarding fees associated with public records. A special service charge will be imposed if the nature or volume of public records requested requires extensive use of information technology resources or extensive clerical or supervisory assistance. Clerical or supervisory assistance includes searching for and or locating the requested record, reviewing for statutorily exempt information, deletion of statutorily exempt information, and preparing, copying, and re-filing of the requested record. A special service charge will be warranted if the nature or volume of the public records requested to be inspected or copied requires more than 30 minutes of agency resources. The charge for clerical or supervisory resources will be no greater than the hourly rate, including benefits, of the lowest paid personnel capable of providing such services.
If extensive use fees apply, a requestor can opt to pay for records in person at Lakeland City Hall, or by mailing a check to Public Records, City of Lakeland, 228 S. Massachusetts Avenue, Lakeland, FL 33801. Please make the check payable to the City of Lakeland. A requestor can also pay by credit card through our system with Lakeland Electric. Click the Pay Now button in the top right corner. Enter 3687426 as the Account Number, enter the amount noted for records processing, then click next and follow the prompts. There is a $2.75 flat fee for all credit card transactions.
