City News Blog: T. Mims Corp. Red, White & Kaboom Returns July 3rd with Music, Fireworks & Community Spirit


LAKELAND, FL (May 11, 2025) - Join us on Thursday, July 3, 2025, for the annual T. Mims Corp. Red, White & Kaboom Independence Day Celebration, taking place at Lake Mirror along the Frances Langford Promenade from 6:00 p.m. to 9:15 p.m. Enjoy an evening of live music, food, and patriotic fun—culminating in a breathtaking fireworks show at 9:00 p.m.

Gary Love and the Moonlighters will take the stage to kick off the festivities. Known for their high-energy performances and timeless covers from the 1970s to the 2000s, this Central Florida favorite is sure to deliver an unforgettable concert. Band members include Gary Love (vocals/guitar), Nick Gregory (guitar), Zach Miller (guitar), Matt Fields (bass), Andy Shreeve (guest keyboard), and Jerry Escobedo (percussion). Admission is free, but attendees are encouraged to bring at least one non-perishable food item to support Volunteers in Service to the Elderly (VISTE)—a local nonprofit helping seniors in Lakeland, Bartow, Mulberry, and Ft. Meade live independently and safely. Your donation will make a big difference for some of the most vulnerable members of our community.

What to Bring (and What Not To):
Feel free to bring blankets and personal coolers (no glass bottles or containers, please). For safety reasons, pop-up tents, large umbrellas, or any staked shade structures are not allowed.

Parking: All City parking garages will be open and available for use.
