Public Notice: TRAFFIC ADVISORY: S.R. 37 (North Florida Avenue) Closed at Railroad Tracks Between Main Street and Pine Street in Lakeland
BARTOW, FL (November 14, 2025) | The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) announces a temporary closure of S.R. 37 (North Florida Avenue) at the railroad tracks between Main Street and Pine Street in Lakeland this weekend. The closure will begin at 6 a.m. on Saturday, November 15, and the roadway is expected to reopen by 10 p.m. on Sunday, November 16, weather permitting and barring any unforeseen conditions.
The closure is necessary to allow crews working for CSX to perform routine maintenance and repairs at their railroad crossing.
Detour Information:
- Northbound traffic on North Florida Avenue will be detoured left (west) onto Lime Street to S.R. 563 (Kathleen Road), then right (north) to Lake Wire Drive, right (northeast) to George Jenkins Boulevard, and right (east) back to North Florida Avenue.
- Southbound traffic on North Florida Avenue will follow the same detour in reverse.
Motorists are advised to plan additional travel time, follow posted detour signs, and exercise caution in the area
