LAKELAND, FL | (April 1, 2024) The City of Lakeland will commemorate the legacy of the Lake Mirror Promenade during the Centennial Celebration in 2028.

LAKELAND, FL (March 26, 2024) | The City of Lakeland Wastewater Division will repair a broken sewer connection in the 1800 Block of South Florida Avenue. The work will begin Sunday evening on March 31, 2024, at 7 p.m.

LAKELAND, FL (March 11, 2024) | A wetlands/protected wildlife and plants survey is planned to start on Monday, March 11, 2024, in the Lake Bonnet Drainage Project area. The AECOM Biological Survey Team will be working in the community to collect data until approximately April 30, 2024. Members of the team will walk through, inspect, and photograph the area and may enter and exit from the land and/or the water to complete the required data collection.

The event will run from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and aims to connect business leaders and professionals from across the region. It serves as an opportunity for companies of all sizes to showcase their products and services, meet with potential customers, and establish connections within the community.

LAKELAND, FL (February 12, 2024) | On Tuesday, February 13, 2024 the City of Lakeland Wastewater Collection Division will start work on a sanitary sewer repair that will cause Orange Street to close to through traffic between Lake Avenue and Ingraham Avenue.

On Sunday, February 11, 2024, at approximately 5:00 a.m., officers responded to a traffic crash involving a black Dodge pickup truck and a pedestrian near the intersection of US 98 South (Bartow Road) and North Massachusetts Avenue.

LAKELAND, FL (February 9, 2024) | The City of Lakeland owns and operates Se7en Wetlands, a constructed wetland treatment system that provides tertiary treatment, or final polishing for all of the City’s treated wastewater.  Se7en Wetlands is reclaimed mining area that was mined for over 60 years.  Mining operations stopped in 1984.  Shortly after, the City of Lakeland Purchased the property and then constructed the wetland treatment system in 1987.

The 2024 Spring Training season is Detroit’s 88th consecutive campaign in TigerTown, extending longest-standing relationship between a Major League Baseball team and a Spring Training host community.
