Public Notice: Lakeland Fire Department set to perform Live Fire Training at Lakeland Linder International Airport
Lakeland, FL | Lakeland Fire Department will perform live-fire training at Lakeland Linder International Airport (LAL) from Dec. 4, 2023, to Dec. 9, 2023 (Monday-Saturday). Training will occur on the airport's south side near SUN n' FUN, located at 4175 Medulla Rd, Lakeland, FL 33811. The training will last from approximately 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM each day.
For safety and security reasons, Live Fire Training will not be open to the public. However, in the event fire or smoke is observed near the training site, there is no immediate danger or cause for alarm.
The live-fire training is performed annually to meet Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations for the department's Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting (ARFF) division. The live-fire exercise will simulate various emergency situations involving fuel spills and potential emergencies in the presence of aircraft.
