LAKELAND, FL (October 24, 2025) | The City of Lakeland will celebrate the 100th anniversary of the historic Cleveland Heights Golf Course at 10 a.m. on Friday, November 21, 2025. The ceremony will take place at Cleveland Heights Golf Course, 2900 Buckingham Avenue, Lakeland, Florida.

The community is invited to attend as City officials and staff commemorate a century of golf, recreation, and community connections at one of Lakeland’s most iconic landmarks. The event will include remarks from City leaders, historical displays, and recognition of the course’s contributions to Lakeland’s rich recreational history.

Constructed during Lakeland’s development boom of the 1920s, Cleveland Heights Golf Course has become a treasured destination for residents and visitors alike. Its scenic rolling terrain, mature trees, and inviting layout have hosted thousands of rounds of golf, tournaments, and community gatherings over the years.

Bob Donahay, Director of Parks, Recreation & Cultural Arts, said, “Cleveland Heights Golf Course has been part of Lakeland’s identity for 100 years. Generations have come here to play, connect, and build lifelong memories. This celebration honors the vision that started it all and the people who have kept that vision alive for a century.”
