Public Notice: West Valencia Street Closure Beginning May 26

LAKELAND, FL (May 22, 2026) - Beginning Tuesday, May 26, contractors working on behalf of the City of Lakeland Water Utilities Department will begin construction of a new sewer service for a residential property.

As part of this project, West Valencia Street between Kettles Avenue and Washington Avenue will be temporarily closed to through traffic for the duration of construction. Local traffic will still be able to access nearby properties. Detour routes will be in place to help guide motorists around the work area.

Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead, use caution in the construction area, and follow all posted signage.

The project is scheduled to be completed in one to two weeks.
