Help for Public Service Agencies
The City of Lakeland awards approximately $160,000 annually to qualified nonprofit public service agencies and local government programs serving low to moderate income clients in the following categories:
- Child Care
- Drug Abuse Counseling/Treatment
- Education Program
- Fair Housing Counseling
- Health Care
- Homeless Citizens Service
- Public Safety Service
- Recreation Program
- Senior Citizens Service
- Special Needs
To qualify for funding, an agency must be tax exempt 501(c)(3).

The Application is now closed for non‐profit organizations seeking funds to provide public service programs for the program year 2026-2027.
The application will re-open in February 2027 for program year 2027-2028.
