The City of Lakeland is a drug-free work place and an equal opportunity employer. The Lakeland Fire Department utilizes the National Testing Network (NTN) and requires a Candidate Physical Abilities Test (CPAT) of all applicants. All interested applicants must apply through both the city of Lakeland’s NEOGOV process as well as the NTN. Applications (when positions are available) are accepted daily between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM at the Office of Civil Service located at 500 North Lake Parker Avenue, Lakeland, FL.

The F.O.C.U.S. Scholarship offers an opportunity of a lifetime. The scholarship covers 100% of the cost associated with becoming a certified firefighter. This scholarship is designed to benefit a low income or homeless student. Learn more about the program, who qualifies, and how to apply here.
