Neighborhood Services

The Neighborhood Services Bureau is comprised of the Uniform Patrol Division, the largest area of the department. Uniformed personnel respond to calls for service from members of our community. In 2016, the Uniform Patrol Division handled 108,837 calls for service and completed 25,229 reports.

The Neighborhood Services Bureau is staffed by a Captains, 4 Lieutenants, 18 Sergeants, 120 sworn officers and 5 Public Safety Aides.  

Uniform Patrol Division

Committed to the philosophy of Community Policing, the Uniform Patrol Division of the Lakeland Police Department provides public safety services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, and respond to emergency and non-emergency calls for service. The Uniform Patrol Division played a key role in answering 100,984 calls for service to the 100,008 population of the city.

The two day shift squads work 6:30 a.m. until 6:30 p.m. and are allotted sixteen officers, which includes two K-9 officers and five Public Safety Aides. The day shift squads are supervised by one lieutenant and four sergeants who are geographically assigned as are the officers on the squad.

The night shift squads work 6:30 p.m. until 6:30 a.m. and have twenty-one officers, which includes two K-9 officers and five Public Safety Aides, who are geographically assigned in the city. Each night shift is supervised by one lieutenant and four sergeants who are geographically assigned, as are the officers on the squad.
