Effective July 1, 2013 the City of Lakeland requires registration of certain real properties in default, foreclosure, or which are mortgagee (bank) owned as the result of a foreclosure, deed-in-lieu of foreclosure, or surrendered to a mortgagee pursuant to a bankruptcy proceeding. Ordinance 5352 provides for the registration requirement, as well as inspection and maintenance responsibilities for mortgagees of properties subject to the Ordinance. The City of Lakeland has partnered with the Federal Property Registration Corporation to manage its foreclosure registration program. Interested parties, including those that need to register properties pursuant to Ordinance 5352 should visit VacantRegistry. Inquiries may also be sent to Lakeland's Registration Program.
