Effective Tuesday, September 4, 2012 the City of Lakeland has INCREASED assistance offered to purchasers of single-family homes through the City's Neighborhood Stabilization Program. Income eligible buyers are now eligible to receive between 30% and 50% of the purchase price in deferred payment assistance. With already reduced prices, the increased assistance now ranges between $16,500 and $35,000, making these homes more affordable than ever! When combined with closing cost assistance of up to $4,000, there simply is no better deal around and no better time to buy. Repayment of the assistance is not required as long as the buyer maintains the home as their principal residence and complies with other program requirements.
