  • History

Holloway Park is the legacy of Mary Ann and Edward Holloway, who were long-time residents of the local area. In 2010, the couple decided to preserve our lands in perpetuity. The property had been mined before 1950 and was left in a rugged state with a series of ridges and valleys. Over the years, this 362-acre nature park has improved the biodiversity of native plants, provided a safe haven for all wildlife, and created trails for runners and nature enthusiasts. Holloway Park was donated to the City of Lakeland in 2023 and is maintained and operated by the Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Arts Department.
